The company from Schleswig-Holstein plans to build and operate plants for the production of synthetic fuels – so-called e-fuels – such as methanol. For this puspose, the company synthesizes green hydrogen with CO2 produced in industrial processes. Methanol and higher-value products from such production can be used as fuel in heavy-duty transport or as a basic chemical in the chemical industry.

“#Greenhydrogen and its downstream products, such as #efuels, have the potential to decarbonize all energy-converting sectors from covering heating needs to transportation and all industry. Green power via solar and wind for #hydrogen electrolysis is more than available globally, so we can use hydrogen and its downstream products to lead the way to a world without fossil fuels.”

“With its strong partner network, AquaVentus represents an ideal platform for establishing hydrogen technology on a technical, political and social level. We would like to make our contribution to this. In addition, together with our local partners, we would like to make Brunsbüttel a major and important player in the hydrogen economy. For this, the connection of #Brunsbüttel to the hydrogen infrastructure, which is being built by partners from the AquaVentus network, plays a very important role. With our membership, we would like to work towards Brunsbüttel being considered as a relevant consumer of green hydrogen in the corresponding plans.”
